How did Texas get its name??

      Texas got its name from an Indian Tribe called Caddo. The Caddo's called the Spanish that lived in Texas "tyshas" witch meant "friends" , so the Spanish translated it and turned it into Tejas, and then later on the Americans that lived in Texas translated the name and turned it into Texas, and thats how Texas got its name.

       Texas' nick name is the Lone Star State. It got that nick name because of there one single star on the flag in 1836. The star is also a symbol that represents that Texas is a Republic.

      If you are trying to locate Texas on a map it is on the bottom center of the United States it is also the 2nd biggest state in the U.S.A.
